Updating Royal Ceremony music
Updating one of my most exceptional assignments (but I probably won’t be sewing a new dress this year…)
Last year I composed new music for the Medal Awarding Ceremony for The Royal Orders of Knighthood (Kungl. Majt:s Orden), taking place 31/5 2024 at the Royal Castle, Stockholm.
Obviously, this was a very honorable mission and an exciting task; to take over the baton from Abbé Vogler who composed the previous ceremony music – which has been played for centuries. Until 2024.

JAG BEHÖVER (I NEED)
The Gothenburg women’s choir YMNA, for whom I composed ”Äggen är slut” approached me once again with a new commission. I am really happy to write for YMNA again and delighted to collaborate with poet Olivia Bergdahl, whose lyrics this time are based on the choir’s own experiences. The piece will hopefully be completed in September 2025, ready for rehearsals!

Timestuck for organ and saxophone quartet
New piece for organ and saxophone quartet: TIMESTUCK. A true joy and, as always a dear adventure composing for the Stockholm Saxophone Quartet, with organ this time. I was visiting my friends in SSQ for a little sax-workshop just before christmas and the premiere is planned to autumn 2025. Looking forward!

STIM Scholarship
Among many precious colleagues in music making, I had the joy of receiving the STIM scholarship 2024.
And the party was great too! Thank you Ylva Q Arkvik and Pao Duell for the photos and thank you STIM for the scholarship and a joyful night:)
Since 1923, during more than a century of challenging changes, STIM has been working for the musical right holders and continues to do so. There are many of us music makers, and we have to BOTH be aware of our rights AND stick together.

Eric Ericson Award/The Royal Swedish Academy of Music
Beside my carreer as a composer I am also dragged to the stage, in different ways. Representing The Royal Swedish Academy of Music (KMA), I had the honor to present the Finals of Eric Ericson Award in October. EEA is the world’s most prestigious competition for young choir conductors, so I was really honored to be chosen for this task, side by side with Josef Beltzikoff from The Berwald Hall. PAO Trio had a great time at ”Sörmlands musik och teater” in Eskilstuna. They had already made a really nice poster, before the announcement that our drummer Ossian was going on tour in northern Sweden with no less than Ben Patterson.
What to do? I called The one and only, super talented, super flexible Edvin Glänte who accepted the gig and delivered BOTH superb drumming AND solo singing/artistry alongside bassist/singer/artist Arvid Jullander.
