Eric Ericson Award/The Royal Swedish Academy of Music
Beside my carreer as a composer I am also dragged to the stage, in different ways. Representing The Royal Swedish Academy of Music (KMA), I had the honor to present the Finals of Eric Ericson Award in October. EEA is the world’s most prestigious competition for young choir conductors, so I was really honored to be chosen for this task, side by side with Josef Beltzikoff from The Berwald Hall. PAO Trio had a great time at ”Sörmlands musik och teater” in Eskilstuna. They had already made a really nice poster, before the announcement that our drummer Ossian was going on tour in northern Sweden with no less than Ben Patterson.
What to do? I called The one and only, super talented, super flexible Edvin Glänte who accepted the gig and delivered BOTH superb drumming AND solo singing/artistry alongside bassist/singer/artist Arvid Jullander. Thank you Pållans band and Bruket festival!
Pållans band had a really nice gig at Bruket festival i September. At this occasion we came up with the one and only Gothenburg version of the band, consisting Paula af Malmborg Ward vocals/keyboards, Martin Bjurek Svanström sax, Per Strandberg guitar/vocals, Ludvig Ward bass, Johan Björklund drums. It was fun! I even managed to make a little with clips from the gig, please watch below.

Ikaros´fall premiered
Well done Oscar´s Vocal Ensemble! Humble composer (me) attended the world premiere of my latest choir piece Ikaro´s fall, after a poem by Ebba Lindqvist. Grateful to Sällskapet Ebba Lindqvists vänner (Ebba Lindqvist Society) for the rights to use this beautiful words. Vehicles was the theme of this concert with Oscar´s Vocal Ensemble, conducted by Pär Olofsson. Also music by Whitacre, Vaughan-Williams, Mäntyjärvi – fantastic pieces all over! Thank you for this. THANK YOU ALL – we had a wonderful time in Stockholm with SYSTEMET. Two completely sold out nights at Kulturhuset Stadsteatern 19-20/4, after the already fantastic response in Gothenburg in January. Now, we are working on getting the piece on stage again, there seems to be a need for it:)
The piece was specially composed an designed for Man must sing – a dedicated and skilled opera company who bring the contemporary opera art a bit forward, always commissioning new pieces. This time I am happy to play in the orchestra:)
Final concert of Ligita Sneibe´s solo organ tour
Ligita Sneibe – what a success in Gothenburg Concert hall 13/4! My short fanfare In time in such a magnificent company! A one-hour organ solo programme that simply blew us away! So happy to have had Ligita as my supervisor when I composed the piece for the festival Organ Space in Stockholm 2023. And now I hear the result. Wow! Surrounded by fantastic music by latvian colleague Indra Rise, among others.
