”Marea”, spanish for ”tide” was my inspiration for this 23 min. piece, commissioned by Swedish Radio. This is – beside all gigs, playing and singing together – Karin Klingenstierna´s and my third artistic collaboration. Karin wrote the lyrics for ”Marea” and earlier ”Modus terrae” and ”Missa mariposa” (hM…the letter M seeMs to Mean soMething…) Marea was written for Sofia Jernberg, Norrbotten Big Band and Norrbotten Neo who performed it beautifully at New Directions, Piteå 23/5. It was just great to make some music with these all-over-breathtaking musicians! Thanks to everyone involved from your humble composer/conductor:)
